Welcome to Knit View, page for those who love to knit in beautiful surroundings and want to share this experience.

As every knitter knows, our beautiful craft has an ability to capture the mood, the emotions, the energy of the place where it was knitted. It becomes a time capsule that we can wear or share with others as a gift.

I would like to invite you to join me in this little adventure of finding beautiful spots to work on your knitting & capturing the essence of the surroundings. From the top of the mountains to your own backyard, share the places where you like to knit by joining me on Instagram page knitview & on facebook page Knit View.

Please use hashtags #KnitView & #AlexandraDavidoffStudio so I can see your posts & share on the designated page. Have a wonderful adventure!

Starting a new design in Santa Fe, New Mexico

I recently returned from a trip to New Mexico, where I explored a myriad of stunning landscapes. Opting for a road journey over air travel, I drove the vast Texas Panhandle for a scenic 10-hour drive before winding through the hills of New Mexico. The azure sky, painted in deep shades of blue, left an indelible impression on me.

Now, I find myself in a moment of inspiration as I prepare to embark on a new creative endeavor – designing a Dragon Lore 2 shawl. Nestled by the fireplace at an elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level, I'm surrounded by the tranquil ambiance of this special place. My tools are ready, and beads are strung on those beautiful balls of yarn. There's a unique magic in commencing a new project, especially in such a unique setting…Wish me luck!

Knitting & zooming in Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden

Every Wednesday (unless it is raining) I use Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden as my office for a good part of a day. I come early, find a new cozy corner and working on my knitting surrounded by impeccable beauty of this place. If you seat quietly for a few minutes, you start hearing birds right above you. Around 11 am I move to another seating area in the middle of the garden, this spot got an excellent WiFi and from 11 am to 12:30 I host Knit View. You can join me in person, or via Zoom. Bring your knitting, get comfortable, or come to the garden and lets spend those one and half hours together.

tip: visit your local Botanical Garden. I got a membership at Dallas Arboretum and I make an effort to visit at least once a week. It is peaceful and calming, just what we need this Fall.

Among the Mayan ruins…

Here I am, knitting my Ruby Dragon shawl among the Mayan ruins of San Gervasio in Cazumel, Mexico. That day we left the resort and drove around this small island on our own. No rush, no particular places to be, just us exploring this beautiful place. I always insist on visiting local archeological sites and San Garvasio was our main destination. We spent the whole afternoon walking among the ruins and I found a perfect spot to knit and to “charge” my Ruby Dragon with the energy of this place.

tip: read about this site prior to your visit - you will have more appreciation to this archeological complex once you dive into to the rich and unique history of it.

The view of the blue mountains in Ozarks…

Knitting on the top of the mount Magazine with a breathtaking view of Ozark National Forest. The Lodge is located at Mount Magazine State Park, the highest point of Arkansas. We spend days hiking the trails and evenings enjoying the views that this beautiful place has to offer. I was working on Emerald Dragon sample for I Am Dragon III pattern release & it was a perfect spot for it.

tip: you can bring your dog! Leo loved the place & was a very enthusiastic little hiker.

Knitting in Far West Texas

this is me knitting away at Indian Lodge in Davis Mountains. This is one of my favorite places on this planet, in the heart of Far West Texas. So remote, so peaceful and so welcoming… It was one of those road trips that I will always keeps in my heart as a precious memory, spending time with my sister (who is also a knitter!) exploring Davis Mountains and enjoying every minute of it. This lodge has amazing “knitting spots” with unforgettable views.

tip: if you like to have a cup of tea, or coffee with your knitting - plan ahead! For our next trip we will definitely bring our own supplies.
